John Gallagher, Hunt Vegas and Tommy Zanca?have been named as National Merit Finalists for the 1981-82 school session, according to Brother Paul Mulligan, principal. Gallagher, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Gallagher of Baton Rouge, La., is in his sixth year at St. Stanislaus. He is a member of the National Honor Society and an Alpha Honor Roll student. He served as editor of the school?s yearbook in his junior year. He has been a class officer and secretary of the student council, and he was a member of the St. Stanislaus Science and Math team that reached the final round of the state tournament. He is planning to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering at either Tulane, Duke or Rice University. Vegas is also in his sixth year at St. Stanislaus and is son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Vegas of Bay St. Louis. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish Honor Society, the Prep Quiz Bowl Team and the Debate Team at St. Stanislaus. He represented the school at Mississippi Boys? State this past summer, and he scored in the top 1 percent in math and in the top 5 percent in physics at the State Science and Math Tournament. He is an Alpha Honor Roll student and a member of the President?s Honor Roll. Vegas will study electrical engineering at either Vanderbilt University or the Naval Academy. Zanca, son of Mrs. Jane M. Zanca of Bay St. Louis, is in his seventh year at St. Stanislaus. He is an Alpha Honor Roll student and a member of the National Honor Society and the French Honor Society. He is also a member of the school band, the Drama Club, and Project Do, a service organization. He represented St. Stanislaus at Mississippi Boys? State during the summer of his junior year, and he scored in the top 10 percent in math at the State Science and Math Tournament. Zanoa- will study for a degree in behavioral sciences at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minn. GALLAGHER
