Pass Christian Historical Society P.O. Box 58 Pass Christian, MS 39571 June 6, 2005 Dear Friends and Members, Our June meeting is the last meeting before a two-month summer recess and the one at which three new trustees are elected by the membership—we are delighted to recommend to the membership Beverly Danielson, Buddy Diboll and Ed Macdiarmid as new trustees. In keeping with tradition there will be a wine & cheese party following the close of business. — The Trustees Meeting Monday night, June 13th, 7:30 p.m. Elections are the only item of business. There will be no program, but, of course, there will be wine & cheese party. Note: There are no meetings in July and August, and this will be the last newsletter until September. Thank You ... With the end of the fiscal year we have several retiring officers and trustees. Richard Ward, having served the customary two terms is stepping down as president, but will continue to serve the Society as past-president, an office under the bylaws. (Our thanks also to Jane Ward for her work over the past several years.) Christine May, who has served as both a trustee and recording secretary is also stepping down—this being the end of her 3-year trusteeship. In addition to administrative duties, Christine has done highly important work in re- cording oral histories (her collection is second only to those of Betty Carlin’s), and in securing speakers for monthly meetings. Sandra Clark’s three-year term as trustee is also ending. Sandra has done much work with various events including the Christmas Party and Tour of Homes, which she co-chaired one year. Finally, June marks the end of Jim Currie’s impressive five years as an officer or trustee of the Society. During that time Jim has served as recording secretary, president and most recently as past-president, and before all that Jim chaired the Tour of Home. 2005-60 Trustee & Officer Nominations A nominating committee is recommending to the membership of the society the following members to serve three-year terms as trustees: Beverly Danielson, Buddy Diboll and Ed Macdiarmid.
