Anice Asher told us that Mike went to Germany with his brother, John Asher, when Mike was around 7 years old (1869) to study to be ?bakers.?
They stayed there until around 1876, and then returned home. The 1870 Census shows his mother, Christiana Seebold, and children, but Michael and John are both missing from the household - indicating they probably did travel to Germany as the family remembers. Michael Asher had the following children:
1.	James Asher - born in March 1893 in Louisiana as found in the 1900 Census of Ward 8, St. Tammany Parish, LA, house # 257. He is in the home of his parents. No further information.
2.	Charles Louis Asher - born on March 12, 1894 and died in July 1968 as found on his Social Security records and his WWII Draft record. Family says that he is buried in Turtleskin Cemetery. He is found in the 1920 Hancock Co., MS Census living with his Father-in-law, Ben Mitchell, Logtown, house#76. Charles is listed as age 25 (1895) with wife, Maude and two children. This could be the ?John Ashier? that was incorrectly named in the 1900 Census of St. Tammy Parish, LA living with his parents as born in ?Apr. 1894.? Charles married five times ? first, to Maude D. Mitchell, second, to Helen Rohmer, third, to Lucille Chotin, fourth, to Claudia (maiden name forgotten), and fifth, to Ollie (maiden name unknown).

b.	Louis B. Asher - married Marie Jackson, resides New Orleans, LA
By Helen, Charles Asher had:
c.	Patricia E. Asher - married Dominic Imbrone, resides New Orleans, LA
d.	Charles W. Asher - married Ruth (maiden name unknown), resides New Orleans, LA
e.	Edna B. Asher - married Calvin Burnet, resides Chalmette, LA
3.	William ?Willie? Asher - bom in May of 1895 in LA as found in the 1900 census in the home of his parents. Family said he died at around age 5 and is buried in Turtleskin Cemetery without a head marker.
4.	Elizabeth ?Lizzie? Asher - bom in March of 1898 in LA as found in the 1900 census in the home of her parents. No further information on her.
5.	Frank Achille Asher - bom on March 14, 1900 and died on June 30, 1965 as found on his headstone in the New Palestine Cemetery in Picayune, MS.
