he was bom in Marseille. France, December 14, 1828 and was one of the son of Jean Dominique Girard, and of

They followed the tradition and went back to France just to have their first child Marie Louise Girard was bom in Marseille in 1846
A son, Joseph Auguste Girard, was baptised at St-Louis Cathedral in 1857
An other son, Henri Jean Girard was born in 1858 (we are not sure if it was in Mississipi) he was the father of my father
Marie Virginie Toulme, Louis Antoine Auguste Girard and children moved to Boston and settled in Montreal, in 1860, w'ere they latter had 6 other children.
Marie Virginie Toulme died in Montreal, on March 8, 1873.
Louis Antoine Auguste Girard died in Montreal, on July 2, 1906
From what we gathered, the Toulme family had come from France and w'as living in St-Domingue, (the Island of Hispagnola, now partly Haiti and partly the Dominican Republic) from where they moved to Mississipi and /or Louisiana, around 1783.
In Baie St-Louis. you have a street named TOULME and we suppose that you have the history that led to honoring that name. One of the Toulme family was probably holding an official function at a Municipal or County level.
Was it the father of Jean Baptiste Toulme ? or Jean Baptiste Toulme itself? or one of the brothers of Marie Virginie Toulme ?
This is what I will try to find out when I will go to Baie St-Louis, August 2..
