at home or- on the road) is not the same without the familiar figure of Doc Wolfe pacing the sidelines. And who can count the many hours that Doc has given in taking care of the St. Stanislaus athletes outside of the game time. And furthermore,
Doc takes very seriously his job of tending to the medical needs of the six hundred students at St. Stanislaus?not just the athletes!
From his earliest years of practicing medicine, Doc has made house calls throughout Hancock County and did obstetric delivery in the home in addition to his regular office and hospital work. Even today Doc still makes some house calls along with his regular practice. He still visits "his boys" daily at St. Stanislaus, taking care of both the athletes and the non-athletes. On April 16, 1970, Doc suffered a severe heart attack which "sidelined him for awhile, but in due time he returned to regular duty."
Doc served as chlef-of-staff at the old King's Daughter and Son Hospital and the new Hancock General Hospital in Bay St. Louis. He and an associate,
Dr. Edith Ballard,	first	blood bank In Bay St. Louis at the end of
World War II. He was president of the Merchant's Bank and Trust Co. and also the Merchant's Insurance Company.
The name of Dr. Marion J. Wolfe, Sr. is synonymous with the word dedication. There is no man in the community more interested in his fellowman, and this is proven by the dedication he has shown in his practice of medicine in Bay St. Louis since 1933. In recognition of his tremendous contribution to his alma mater,
'Doc Wolfe was Inducted into the St. Stanislaus Hall of Fame in 1973; and on August 13, 1977, he received the Waveland American Legion Post 77 Health Awar<^ for his contributions above and beyond the "call of duty." In 1982 he was honored by the Hancock General Hospital for his many years of faithful service in the medical profession. In the same year he was honored on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his graduation from the Tulane Medical School?d In 198>
St. Stanislaus honored him In recognition of the 60th anniversary of his graduation from St. Stanislaus College.
