00031 ^ ^ citizens not int"rested in REGISTERING TO VOTE IN FALL ELECTIONS July - 1865 N.O. Daily True Delta - Saturday, July 29, 1865 p 1 c 5 THE REGISTRATION OF VOTERS This important vork seems to have come to a dead-lock for some cause or other, very fev of our citizens having registered their names during the r>ast v;eek. The average is hardly 50 a day, and the clerk? spend by necessity tvo-thirds of their time chatting, smoking or killing time as best they can. In fact, so dull is the business, that I'r. Stauffer has left for the Lake shore, to enjoy a fev; days fishing. This is not right, for it is desirable that every bonafide legal voter in the city should participate in the municipal election vhich vill surely take place this fall.
