Ray Coleman and Joe Murrow took on the difficult job of getting the station torn down, including getting the underground tanks taken out. The parking lot was dedicated in August, 1986 honoring the deceased Mrs. Bessie Mounger. The plaque may be seen in the narthex of the church and it reads:	This parking lot is dedicated in
loving memory to Bessie Ingram Mounger, 1909 - 1971, Mistress of the Manse, 1968 - 1971.
Warren Sick, Jr. joined the congregation in 1968. In 1972 Kathy Wally joined, as well as Clinton and Pat Bartman, and Billy and Sandra Power.
On June 11, 1972, the Rev. Dwyn Mounger wed the widow Christine Renshaw. What a wonderful, fun couple they were ? and continue to be! Mr. Joe and Mrs. Vivian Murrow were received into the church in 1975, the first African-Americans to join. They were wonderful members and soon became very active in the church. Air Force Colonel Larry and Lucimarian Roberts, along with their daughter Robin, were received into the church in 1976 ? the second African-American family to join. What dedicated and loved members they quickly became. Lucimarian became the new organist for the church the next year and they both soon became involved in civic work and positions of leadership in the Presbyterian Church USA. In 1976 a woman was elected as a Deacon - our very own beloved Frances Voight! She also served as Women of the Church President and Circle Chairman (3 years each) and was Church Historian. In 1977 Jim and June Johnston and Ray and Kay Coleman joined. Jim and Ray soon became deacons. In 1978 Chris and Vonnie Bodenschatz, John and Kay Covode, and Paul and Jeannie Smith joined. Paul would soon be very actively involved with the Boy Scouts Evelyn McPhail was elected a deacon this year. In 1981 Kay Covode became a Deacon and Gus and Marian Rapp transferred to the church from Glen Ellyn,
