Summer seems to have leaped by this year, and we had a lot of high humidity days due to the numerous rains.
Homeowners did a lot of grass cutting because of the moisture and lack of any extended dry periods.
The annual Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon received pledges of more than $32 million nationally for a record over the Labor Day period.
Jimmy Lagasse, telethon general chairman for Hancock and West Harrison counties reports his group received pledges for over $4,430 by the end of the telethon.
Lagasse is still taking pledges and hopes to reach a $6,000 total for the area.
The work by the Waveland Civic Association, of which Lagasse is president, and everyone involved, is really appreciated and goes to a very worthwhile cause.
Appreciation goes to everyone who supported the Muscular Dystrophy Telethon through making a pledge, donating time, and helping in any other way.
