James wife is buried in Gainesville, Ms. James, John and Rachel is buried in Cedar Grove cem. at Nicholson, Ms. Rachels gravestone has her middle name on it. The Whitfield records claim Rachels name is Harriet Elizabeth and the Mormon records claim her name is Elizabeth Pekay McCarty. They are both WRONG.
Some geneaologists can not read Spencerian and because of this, some records show James Largent McCarty as Sargent McCarty.
Sarah married John E. Whitfield	Jan.10,1824 - Mar.8,1892
Married Dec.25,1854 No children
John McCarty married Louisa Mitchell	Oct.10,1847 - Dec.11,1932

Charles is buried	in	Pearlington, Ms.
Robert and Reuben	.is	buried in Turtleskin	cem. on	Hwy. 607	with

Sarah had to take care of her brothers and sisters after her mother died in 1849. After her father died in 1854, John E. Whitfield married her and they took care of the children.
They also took care	of her sisters children after	she	died	in 1874. It	is a
possibility that she	had	so many children to take care	of, that she did	not want
any of her own.
