Darline took Della and I up to Picayune Miss, yesterday as Della had some business to tend to. So when we started back home Della suggested to Darline to lets run by to see Mildred Warren a few minutes, so we did and she was so down in the dumps when we went, about her brother and his wife having to be put in the old folks home. She said Bolts her brother was raising cane as he didn't want to be put in that place. But when we left she seemed to feeling much better. I know by myself that is cheers a person up to have old friends drop in and chat for awhile. Mr. & Mrs. Pedro Whitney had 7 or 8 children. Audry, Ethel, Angie Pearl and Mildred were the girls and Jack, Bolts, P.D. and I think there was another boy but I can't remember his name. They were all a very friendly family. They had many friends. I was close to Audry and Ethel's ages and we were all girls together. Audry is now 96 yrs and I'll be 93 this coming April 22nd. Mildred was the baby girl. It was sprinkling so I told her if my daddy asked me how come I was so long getting home after church services, I'd tell him it started raining when we had just got to Mrs. Polly Whitney's and we drove in there till it slacked up. I only remember a few words of the record, a few words of the chorus. A little girl asking, Oh where does daddy go when he goes out? Does he call at the music hall or does he go to see the picture show. It was a cute song. She wanted us to stay and hear another one but I told her my father would be worried about Becky and I. So we went out and got in the buggy and I didn't see the big rope swing right in front on the road as you went out to the highway. So when I picked up the lines and spoke to Dandy he started and the buggy shaft ran right through the swing rope and scared Dandy so bad until he tore out of the harness and tore it up so bad till we couldn't hitch him up, we had to walk home and Jack went with
