MAIN STREET UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
The present church building was built in 1895 in the Carpenter Gothic style, which refers to the wooden Gothic architecture fashioned by carpenters during the Gothic Revival era of American architecture. Since hardwoods were plentiful, massonry was not deemed necessary. The original building housing the sanctuary is on the National Register of Historic Places.
HANCOCK COUNTY COURT HOUSE
Located at 150 Main St, this building was completed fn 1911 for slightly under $25,000.
In 1969, Hurricane Camille caused $133,000 worth of damage to the courthouse.
THE BEACH
The greatest attraction this area offers is the 9 1/2 - mile white sand beach that stretches from Bay St Louis to Bayou Caddy.
Beach Rules
No littering, glass containers or overnight camping is allowed.
Automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles and horses are not allowed on the beach.
Dogs must be on leashes.
Bonfires are permitted if you are over 18 and obtain a permit from the city's fire department.
BAY-WAVELAND YACHT CLUB
First organized in 1896, the clubhouse was built on pilings at the end of a long pier that extended into the Sound at Washington St and Beach Blvd.
The present clubhouse was built in 1949 on the site of a closed oyster factory. BWYC has been very competitive in GYA, USYRU, National Class, and Olympic sanctioned regattas.
FARMER'S MARKET
Located on Longfellow Dr behind the Hancock County Human Services Complex, the Farmer*s Market provides a market place for farmers throughout the county to display their home grown vegetables, such as squash, corn, okra, beans, turnips, tomatos, etc. at prices you will never see in a supermarket.
