Although the Friends are nation wide they are not organized in all states. There are 50 chapters in FML and these 50 chapters are broken down into regions - North, Central and S,E. Coastal, Our southern regien has 17 chapters. The regional breakdown is just getting organized, but they plan to continue annual regional meetings as well as State meetings. State meetings are presently in October, in conjunction with the Mississippi Library Association (MLA) and * alternate yearly between the Coast and Jackson, Officers of the FML are heading each region. Elizabeth Hawkins, President FML handles the North Region, Dr, McMillan, Secretary Treasurer handles the Central Region and Mrs. Estine Maxwell, Vice Presdient heads the S.E. Coastal Region. Each officer lives in their respective regions. Regional organization was suggested for better communication between Friends.
