Exchange Club of Hancock County
The Exchange Club of Hancock County joined hundreds of Exchange Clubs across the nation in observing “One Nation Under-God” Month during November.
Gwen Meyers, president of the local Exchange Club, said the club-sponsored activities increased community awareness of America’s rich religious heritage as well as heightened appreciation of the many freedoms we enjoy as a nation.
“During this holiday season, all Americans should be aware of the importance of religious faith in our nation’s history, and just as importantly, they should appreciate the freedom which allows us to express that faith,” said club president Gwen Meyers.
“One Nation Under God” Month is a national program of the Exchange Clubs of America. The main objective of the program is to help make America’s citizens more aware and appreciative of the importance of religious faith and freedom in our nation’s past, present, and future.
The program is one of many sponsored nationally by Exchange, America’s oldest and largest exclusively American service club organization. In addition to “One Nation Under God” Month, The National Exchange Club sponsors National Crime Prevention Week, the Youth of the Year program, Freedom Shrine displays of historic American documents and a nationwide child abuse prevention project.
