?IRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, ,iAY ST. LOUIS, MS 13 ' m Donna had recently joined the church with their daughters,Lauren and Molly. When the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church USA met in Biloxi this year, many from this congregation had important responsibilities. Alice Hondzinski also made it known that the First Presbyterian Church of Bay St. Louis was looking for a new'-pastor. Rev. Richard Jones responded and on Sunday, December 6, 1987, he was installed as Minister of the church. Rev. Jones soon introduced and taught Thursday night Bible studies ? which were always interesting and which always ended with "joys and hugs" Alice Jones led praise songs. What a great team! December 12, 1988, Ingrid Ling went to be with her Lord quite suddenly. At her memorial service,- friends spontaneously volunteered the joys Ingrid had brought to their lives. The service closed with a tape recording of Ingrid singing one of her original songs. Money was donated to the Organ Fund in her name and her beloved Wurlitzer piano was donated to the church, it is now in the sanctuary with a plaque which reads: Dedicated in loving memory to Ingrid June Hilke Ling, Beloved Child of God, Mother, Wife, Friend, Teacher, Choir Director and Organist. Kathy Wally generously led the choir until Alice Jones was appointed Director. Alana Noonan became Organist. In 1988 Kay Coleman organized the Prayer Chain which continues to this day. Another person who would be missed terribly was Mrs. Betty Crockett. Betty served in the choir, taught Sunday School and brought donuts to the fellowship hall every Sunday morning for years. The revival at the church known as "Spirit Alive" held in 1991 was dedicated to her memory: "To Betty Crockett who loved us, blessed us, laughed with us and prayed for this mission. Gone to be with our Lord -- September 16, 1991" Alice Hondzinski took over the Sunday morning coffee and donuts tradition i.or several years. Later Juel Gabe assumed this task. We all enjoy this treat .
