•	1877 - Vessel in Port, Pascagoula, American schooner Mabel, Capt. Alberts, loading, 40 tons.

•	1877 - Cleared Port of Pascagoula, American schooner Mabel, Capt. Alberts, 40 tons, to Key West, 55,000 ft. lumber and 20,000 shingles by L. N. Dantzler. PMR, Dec. 14,1877.
•	1878 - "The schooner Mabel, Capt. Alberts, which cleared some days ago, has returned for repairs, having lost her center board." DStar, Apr. 26, 1878.
•	1884 - "The schooner Dantzler, off the coast of Key West, Florida, Capt. Alberts, came up the river Saturday night, having on board some curious and interesting specimens of an immense fish skeleton, picked up fifty miles windward of the Keys, and intended to exhibit it at the New Orleans Exposition". •	1899 - Capt. John Alberts on Friday evening last had a narrow escape from being killed while attending to his acetylene gas machine, the gas was accidentally ignited by a candle which he uses in cleaning out the machine, causing an explosion which blew out the generator or cylinder, striking him on the left arm and making a severe wound. The captain is not laid up in consequence however. DStar, Aug. 25,1899.
