Beyond the lobby is the auditorium seating 420 people downstairs and 182 in the balcony for total seating of 602. Sight lines from all seats are excellent. There is an open stage (to accommodate the various sets needed for the musicals) 55 feet wide 50 feet deep. The stage is to be trapped and a cyclorama in the back will allow for both front and rear projections. A 196 circuit, electronically controlled stage lighting system will be capable of a multitude of special effects as well as complete general lighting to enhance the performances. Beyond the stage is a 55’ by 35' shop in which scenery will be constructed. The green room, dressing rooms, and executive offices are in the back; costuming, plus props and furniture storage are on the second floor over the shop.
The theatre auditorium will have fixed seating, with rows 36” apart to meet all codes and allow for leg comfort. The theatre chairs will have padded seats and backs, the aisles will be carpeted. The building will have a sprinkler system and meet all codes for safety and handicapped accessibility.
The theatre will be constructed on a slab (land elevation is approximately 18', therefore, no fill is necessary). Driveways and parking lots will be covered with oyster shells to enhance drainage and be environmentally friendly.
City parking requirements will be met by utilizing the sides and the back of the property. The private lane leading to the theatre will be one way from Highway 90, the exits will be to a street east of the property.
All brochures advertising the theatre will include maps and directions for reaching the theatre. Two billboards on I-10 will give the location and an 800 number for additional directions.
