In about 1888 Tom Evans and wife Sarah Johnson Evans convinced Harriet Johnson McCarty to move in with Daniel B. Frierson and wife Mary Johnson Frierson. In about 1896 Mary moved out and into the house on Indian Camp Branch that Harriet and husband Reuben McCarty had lived in until his death in January or February of 1885.
