ever discussed the name. She reported that when she first met Zief she inquired about his name. His response was "I'm a junior" and nothing else about the name was ever spoken. Martie did not know the origin.
Alice and Marguerite told me that the name Oneziphorus appears in the Bible.
2nd Timothy 1:16 - "May the Lord have mercy on the family of
Oneziphorus, because he has often given me new heart and has not been ashamed of me even in chains."
I have not changed the title pages in this genealogy to Oleziphore. By common usage, custom and tradition the name of our grandfather is Oneziphore. Also, the name Oneziphore is engraved for eternity on the tomb.
TOPICS to EXPLORE
I have developed nothing on our grandfather's work. Somewhere records may exist relative to licenses he held and professional groups in which he may have belonged. Resident addresses at which the family lived have not been identified, but documents giving such information should be available.
Gloria tells me our grandfather owned a racehorse. Registration and other information on that subject probably still exists.
Information on those and other topics, albeit interesting, are not critical to this work. Because of my remoteness to New Orleans, I will not investigate or report anything further than what is submitted herewith. I, however, welcome and encourage additional research.
