This lovely and historic city was the scene of many Civil War battles. Once described as the “Athens of the South” and later as the “City of Roses,” Holly Springs contains some of the most beautiful homes in the South.
Special Attractions
The Kate Freeman Clark Art Gallery, said to be the only one of its kind in the world, houses the largest collection of paintings done by a single artist. The gallery and Montrose, home of the Holly Springs Garden Club, are open year round. Also of interest in the area are several antebellum

churches and the Marshall County Museum. Many other antebellum homes may be seen by automobile tours.
Tour Information
Montrose and nine homes will be open during Pilgrimage.
Morning tours are from 10 until 1 o’clock and afternoon tours from 1 until 5 o’clock. All homes will be open Sunday from 1 until 6 o’clock. Montrose is open both morning and afternoon. Ticket prices for all ten homes are adults, $10.00; children 6-11, $5.00; children under 6, free. Tickets may be obtained at Pilgrimage Headquarters in City Hall.
