Favre said the city has until Sept. 30 to have architectural drawings prepared for the project. The city hasn?t hired an architect yet, however, because officials didn?t want to commit funds until the city has title to the depot.
City Council probably will be asked next week to issue a formal request for architectural service proposals, the mayor said.
Meanwhile, Anderson said her plans for giving the collection to the city include only two stipulations: the library can?t be divided up or loaned out, and it must retain its name. The library was named for her grandmother, Lulu Williams Anderson.
There are Anderson ties to the Bay St. Louis area. Ann Anderson?s grandfather, Vassar, once owned the property where the Dia-mondhead community ultimately was developed. Ann Anderson created and nurtured the genealogical library to its extensive state, in part with funds from her grandmother, she said.
The library is extensive, containing genealogical information from 34 states, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Scotland, England, Sweden and Spain, she said.
In addition, the library contains vast information on all the Southern states, and New England states as well, she said.
Anderson said the library has outgrown its accommodations at : William Carey, and will continue to grow after it?s moved to Bay St.
' Louis. If it doesn?t fill up the entire second story of the depot initial-? ly, it will before long, she said.
i	Favre said the city may hire a staff person to oversee the library : operation if necessary. In addition, Anderson said she plans to con-j tinue to contribute to the collection, and to help run it on a volun-f teer basis.
