or they had a young couple living with them. In records they had 8 children listed.
On the 1853 Census the Jackson Fry house had 1 male & 1 female.
On the 1850 Agricultural Census of Greene County, Charles Fry listed his property; 2-milk cows, 40 swine, 90 dollars(value of live stock), 80 bushels of sweet potatoes. But he still did not admit to owning any land.
The last time I could find Charles H. Fry was on the 1860 MS Census Index. He was living in Greene County in the community of Vernal. A. J. Fry was also on that list still living in Vernal. Vernal is not listed on a current MS map. On the old maps it is located on the Chickasawhay River south of Leakesville.
In the Aug. 1870 Census of Hancock County MS, Andrew Jackson Fry and family are listed in house #925-1097. He moved with his family to Hancock County sometime between 1860 and 1870.
Andrew's parents, brothers and sisters all stayed in Greene County at that time. According to the 1880 Agricultural Census of Greene County, Andrew's brother Daniel built a large farm.
At the time of the census He had on hand, 1,760 lb. of rice,
100 bushels of sweet potatoes, 50 lb. of honey, and a little bit'of anything else a farm could produce.
