Acker and Haynes top VCJ graduates
Two county students, Androlla Acker of Pearlington and Loray Haynes of Kiln, will receive top honors as a cluss of 27 seniors is graduated by Valena C. Jones School in ceremonies at 8 p.m. Monday.
Andrella, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Acker, with a scholastic average of 98, will deliver the valedictory address while Loray, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Haynes who has an average of 95, is to be salu-tatorian.
Harold Price, son of Principal and Mrs. J.S. Price, will also speak at the exercises as third honor graduate. J.W. Fields, jr., with: a 91 average ranks fourth in the class.
Price will award the diplomas and Superintendent J.D. McCullouch of the Dayfit. Louis Municipal Separate School District will present special awards.
'Hie baccalaureate service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the school with Rev. W. Leo Cole, pastor of St. Mark?s Methodist Church in Gulfport, delivering the sermon.

Eighth grade graduation will be at 8 p.m. today with 43 in this class. Valedictorian is James Wheat, jr., 3011 of the Janies Wheats of Pearlington, and salutatoriqn is Lionel Acker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Acker of Hay St. Louis. Price will present certificates to the eighth grades and Barbara Hawkins will read the class history while Miltonllar-gett will present die class gift.
