and sold land to various Lees. Thomas Devane II was the executor	of
Bryant Lee, his first cousin?s estate in 1768:	'
On July 7, 1724 David Lee, by signing his mark	sold	his lands
on Duck Creek for 20 pds. to Evan Miller (1:454,? witnessed by Wm. Sparry, John Worsley) . He probably then moved to New Hanover County along with the Devanes. Most of the records of	that area before 1734 are	lost.	He	did
purchase lands from John Watson,	which he sold in 1737.

This writing witnesseth that David Lee of New Hanover prect. & province aforesaid Planter for...two hundred pounds Curt, money.,,hath sold... unto Rufus Marsden of Newton...one peice or Tract of land containing sixty Eight acres...being the upper part of the Track of Land contg. 640 acres granted by Patent to John Watson of which Track aforesaid are severall half acres Lotts laid out for Newton in N. Hanover precinct...which said sixty eight acres joynes John Maulsby...In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this 18 Feby. 1737...

David Lee received a patent June 19, 1736 for 400 acres on the West side of Smith?s Creek in New Hanover (New Hanover grant #123 & 712.) He later moved to Black (later South) River and on Feb. 27, 1739 received a warrant for 400 acres there, "on the Bluff where Simpson camped", which
was issued April 20, 1745, after his death. {New Hanover '#354 & 1008,

this property on Jan. 20, 1784 for 5 pds. to James Robinson, Sr. 50 acres on Black' River, being part of a patent to David Lee of 1745 (H:313, witnessed by Benj. Robinson,- Thomas Devane).
