BWYC Won it’s 1st Lipton Cup Championship in 1963
Pictured here is the first winning BWYC Lipton Cup Sailing Team in 1963 at Southern Yacht Club. From left is Walter Chamberlain, Chuck Breath, Bill Reeves, Topper Thompson, Harry Chapman, Clay Charbonnet, and 1958 BWYC Commodore Don Chamberlain who was a team skipper. Not pictured here is BWYC Lipton Team Captain Dick Reeves who later served as Commodore of BWYC in 1964 and 1965.
Proud BWYC Commodores in the significant year of 1963 were Kenneth Pepperdene and Richard Hadden.
It should be noted that BWYC also won its 1st Junior Lipton Cup Championship in 1963 and several juniors were key members of both of the winning teams.
