Hancock County Storm Victims
Food, water and shelter,- long recognized as prime requites for man’s survival, were abruptly taken from Hancock ounty residents when killer Hurricane “Camille” howled in [ringing death, demolition and devastation to a large, but yet hdetermined number of people. Within hours following the dis-Ster vitally needed supplies were pouring into the area from le four corners of our vast United States. A search and rescue quad from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania contributed skill and abil-jy in searching outlying areas and bringing stranded and in-fred victims to the American Red Cross Stations for treatment. Blvation Army shelters gave food, clothing, bedding andcom-fcrt. Where fires broke out New Orleans and Natchez Fire De-jartments fought gallantly to bring blazes under control. Adams ►ounty Civil Defense joined forces with the Natchez Sheriffs department and theNew Orleans Civil Defense in doing a super-luman job. Not to be overlooked were the magnificient services i Rendered by the Georgia Power Company, the Mississippi Pow-tr Company, The South Central Bell Telephone Company, the E. /.
