The children in the community all went to school together. They went to a rural school in the Catahoula community, (look for D-4 on map) to find Catahoula Lane. It?s back towards Picayune. The school was near the Catahoula Baptist Church, a road turns to the left, and you see a large grove of oak trees. It was in those trees that the Catahoula School was at.
Judy Pippins? address is: 14359 Lott McCarty Road (D-3 on map). Look for Whitfield Road, off of Hwy 43, turn onto it, all the way to the end. Turn left onto Lott McCarty Road, it?s the first red-brick house. This is where Arellia lives at. While, Judy is on her trip, Judy?s aunt, named: Dorothy Ladner, age 86 will be with her mother.
It will be all right for us to stop in to say hello. Judy did not think we should have long extended conversations because her mother tires quickly. Arellia (said on speaker phone) that we can ask her questions and she will answer them - (so we can stop in there). This place is about 7 miles south of Picayune.
(I wanted to know the full name of the Moran family that lives on David J. Miller?s place. Maybe we could get a copy of the old deed ) Judy says everyone calls him "Sonny? Moran and she thinks^hat is his full name. She knows the Hancock County Chancery Clerk, whose name is Kim KeW. And h& is from this very community, so she thinks if I call him, he could help us get the David J. Miller deed, (before we get there. I will try to do this.)
Judy knows Linda Tufaro, the Picayune Library director. They are friends.
Judy also knows a Mrs. Goyce Smith at 610 Old Kiln Road. (I have talked with her earlier and she works at bank) She thinks her daughter is named Karen (I also talked with her earlier) Her phone number is: 228-493-5666.
We can look around Kiln, its not a big town but has a post office and a library. She is not sure if the library is open on Wednesday.
(I wonder if we can try to work all this in from Wednesday 10:00 till the evening. I still would like to have us meet the Hancock County Historical Society president and hear his talk. That would be in Bay Saint Louis another 12 miles from Kiln. Maybe after that we could find a motel, eat somewhere, walk on beach before sun goes down, etc. We can figure this out as we go, so everyone will be comfortable.)
