///2 WAR OF Via? U.S. Army forces of the 7th Military District were commanded by Major General Thomas Flournoy, who replaced General Wilkinson on May 1st, two weeks after Wilkinson took Mobile. Flournoy, in order to make his forces accessible to both New Orleans and Mobile, made his headquarters at the Bay of St. Louis, where he was in August 1813 (Claiborne, 1978) . There were'two military regiments at the Bay at that time. Their encampment was known as Camp Goode. A row of barracks extended from the present site of Court Street to St. Stanislaus (HERALD, 1958; p8A) . Claiborne (1876) locates the Camp at the place where Alfred Ulman's mansion was later built (north of St. Joseph's Academy).
