Representative Leonard of Hancock County introduced a bill in Mississippi Legislature for the Court House to be at Gainesville.
Gainesville citizens have to travel 25 to 30 relies over a bad
road.
Largest number of Hancock County citizens transact their business buying and selling produce at Gainesville.
Shieldsborough area had the court house becuase the citizens of that section had out-voted the rest of the County.
February 20, 18U6, land in Gainesville vas donated by Charles H. Frazar.
Bill vas passed February 21 vith County to pay one-third of cost. Erick building or buildings are to be erected.
