Before Victoria Zengerling married John M. Asher in 1887, she had a child out of wedlock. This child was baptized at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church on May 12, 1876. The record says ?Mary Magdelene Favre? was born on ?March
3,	1876, illegitimate daughter of William Favre and Victoria Zingerling.? Older family members said the father was William ?Billy? Favre, a half-Indian, oxen team driver, that worked on the Zengerling farm. The child was turned over to the Nuns at St. Joseph Academy in Bay St. Louis, MS. Nobody knew what became of this child - possibly she was adopted or became a Nun?
B.	John Stephen Zengerling - bom on November 15, 1858 in Bayou La Croix, MS and died in Ansley, MS on November 6, 1934. His headstone in the Rotten Bayou Cemetery near Diamondhead has these dates, and his baptismal record in Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis, MS also matches. On January 20, 1887, he married Elector Moran. It should be noted that some members of this family started using the ?Zingarling? and ?Zingerling? spellings of the name. They thought the ?Zengarling? version was wrong - surprise, all these spellings were wrong! They had the following children:
