Dhaned and abandoned children from New York City stopped in Opelousas. According to the Loui-:h of those trains carried about 50 English-speaking, orphaned children to the French-speaking area. 2000 orphans arrived in Louisiana between 1907 and 1929. Over the years, the Louisiana-bound z, Mansura, New Iberia, Baton Rouge, Morgan City, Lafayette and New Orleans. Most of the children 'ants who were adopted by French-speaking parents.
