Families connected with these facilities would, more than likely, shop

The IMissiesippi State Employment Service's labor market information bulletin reported that the Biloxi - Gulfport area'6 total civilian labor force for the first half of 1963 was 40,150. The bulletin further stated that employment offices at Gulfport and Biloxi are experiencing difficulty in meeting the demand for construction workers, sales personnel, clerical workers, stenographers, cooks, specialized mechanics, technicians and managerial workers. These figures, of course, do not include the aforementioned announced plants which shall contribute greatly to the employment figures.
Personal income for the first six months of 1963 is 7. 6 percent ahead of last year for the state of IVTississippi, according to the July 27th issue of "Business Week" magazine. Only seven other states showed a greater gain. Bank resources and deposits have increased at a rate more than twice that of tna national average. According to the United States Department of Commerce, the rate of increase for manufacturing employment in Mississippi for 1962 was greater then any Southern state, increase in manufacture of goods was 25% greater than the rational average, and expenditure for new plants and equipment was 105% greater than the national average.
In conclusion, this all points to the fact that the state of Mirrissippi, and especially the Gulf Coast area, is on the move. The signs of growth are healthy and stable and the ingredients of future growth at even greater speed are in bountiful supply.
