The obituary in Magees Creek Aasooiatlonal Minute a for year 1093 shows Salena Oinn born Doc, 10, 1007, died Jan, X0, 1093, leaving 11 children, *4 grand, childron, 3* great grandchi Idren, and that she waa a member of Union Baptist Churoh, which ia about 3 miles north of Tylertown. The Joe May plaoe where Huriah and Salena Oinn are reported to have been buried, ia within one mile of the said Union Church, There aro four adult grave spaces reported to have been Huriah and Salena and her parents, but there are no grave markers.
The names Huriah, Hughrlah, Uriah, and Hugh Oinn seem to have been used Interchangeably in the public records. Huriah bagnn paying poll tax in 10X7 in Pike County, Hlaa, and he waa nssessed with land adjoining Penny Ginn on Magee's Creek from 10X7 through 1033* In 103*, Huriah Ginn, along with some of hia Magoe relntiven, Appeared in Rankin County, Miaa, rage 101 Hendrix Court Recordn ahow that Huriah (Jinn nlgned $X*000 bond in 10*0 along with ?Jacob and Nehemiah Magee, as security for slaves, to Sheriff W. P. Coloman, of Rankin County, Land records of Rankin County also show that on July 10, 163*, "Know all men by these presence that we of tlio County of Rankin, Uriah Oinn and Salena. his wife, in the state aforesaid, in consideration of $500 in hand paid, sell EJSWj Section *, Township 5, Range 3 East; NjWjNWj Section 7# Township 5, Range 3 East."
Land records for Pike County, Miss, show land assessed to Huriah Ginn in Sections 1*, 15, 21, XX, X3, and X*, Township X, Range 11 Eqst, east of Tylertown, near Knoxo. Hughriah Oinn and his wife Salena, sold land in Pike County, Miss, on Dee, X9, 1675, hut his name does not appoar in the 1060 census so he must have died between 1076 and 1600, He is shown in the 1650, 1060, and 1870 census for Pike County and Salena Ginn appears as head of household in the 1600 census.

1, NEWLAND JACK OINN, b-Nov, 16, 18X7, d-July 16, 106X at Grenada, m- Dec, 7, 165* Louisa Bullock Brumfield, b-May 3, 1632, d-Hay 25, 19X5* He is burled at Jap Holmes place east of Tylertown and she is burled at Magees Creek Church, Their family Bible is in possession of the Lem Ginn Family near D&rbun. Louisa Bullock, daughter of Hugh and Caroline Brumfield Bullock, was first married to John 0, Brumfield, 10XX-16*9, and had a daughter who died in infancy, and a aon John 0. Brumfield, Jr., "Bud John". Louisa's second marriage was to Newland Oinn and they had 3 sons and a daughter.
Newland Jack Ginn was a Pvt. Co. E, 33rd Regt. Mias. Inf,, and a member of the Holmesvllle Guard (Conerly's Pike County History and WPA History). He died at Grenada during the Civil War and when word of his death reached Louisa, she rode horseback from her home east of Tylertown to Summit, the nearest railroad point, spent the night with friends with plans to entrain for Grenada to olalm jier husband's body and Return it to Tylertown for burial. The following morning at breakfast, her host reported that a train from the north had arrlvod with some bodies of soldiers aboard. U(?on inquiry, it waa dleoovered that the body of Newland Jack was one of tltnne aboard and thus she was spared the remainder of the trip.
This writer recalls many lengthy visits made by great grandmother Louisa and remembers many family events related by her, including the inoident above,
