Annette Netto - according to her baptismal record in St. Louis Cathedral, she was bom on March 8, 1825. Information by Mrs. Jeanne Williams, supposedly from the old Koch Bible, indicates that she died on November 14, 1886. Mrs. Williams thought Annette and her husband both had headstones in the old Koch Cemetery with the above dates. This cemetery contains many of the other Koch descendants and is located just south of the Stennis Space Center near the old Logtown Cemetery. Much of the following Koch information was given to us by Mr. George Koch of Bay St. Louis on July 18, 1976. While he was one of the oldest living Kochs and still had an excellent memory, he was a bit confused on some of his cousins and where they had moved. He said his Grandmother, Annette Netto, married Christian D. T. Koch and lived at Logtown, MS. Koch was a Danish immigrant that became a prosperous farmer near Pearlington. Christian left behind a diary (translated and copied by family members) and a Will in the Hancock County Court House that tells us much about this family. The Koch family appears in the 1870 Hancock County census as follows: Christian, age 59; Annette, 45; Lorentza, 21; Stanley, 20; Frank, 18; John, 15; Lucy, 11; Annette, 9; Peter, 7; and Thomessina, age 4. The family appeared in the 1850 Hancock census as follows: Christian, age 40; Annette, 24; Eles, 6; Emile, 4; Laurentza, 3; and Stanley, age 6/12. They also show up in the 1880 Hancock census as: Christian Koch, age 70; Annette, 56; Peter, 17; Annette, 20; Thomassine, 14; and Res, age 50, “a brother in law” to Christian. This last person is believed to be Pierre Netto, Annette’s mentally challenged brother. Based on Mr. George Koch’s information and our research, the following are the known descendants of Christian Koch. 1. Hans Christian “Elers” Koch - bom on March 27, 1844 and died May 16, 1866 per his headstone in the Koch Cemetery. He married Rebecca V. Nixon on November 23, 1865, according to the Hancock County marriage records. He supposedly died shortly after that from wounds he received in the Civil War. 2. Emile R. Koch - according to his headstone in the Koch Cemetery, he was born on November 22, 1845 and died April 3, 1931. He married Annie Summers on 17
