Employment Service Places 431 In Jobs
The local employees of the Mississippi State Employment Service, located in the Agricultural Building on Necaise Avenue, have been in operation nine weeks taking Job orders, applications, and placing many people on permanent and temporary Jobs.
For the month of August starting on or about the 22nd of August, your State Employment Service here in Bay St. Louis placed 163 people on Jobs. For the month of September 268 people were placed on Jobs. During the same period the Employment Office contacted 217 employers to secure labor market information, develop Jobe, discuss workers, or ex-
plain our services.
At the moment the agency has applications in active file containing many clerical workers, domestic help, operating engineers, carpenters, and truck drivers.
In addition to the regular duties of the office, a small portion of Nyc has been revived and started in operation Monday the 20th of October. This phase of NYC will last thirteen weeks.
