New Hanover County, North Carolina Bryant Lee 17???1768 Not much is known about Bryant Lee. I have not been able to satisfactorily establish who his father was. One reference about his (See page F-l) son James notes that James was bom in Virginia and moved to North Carolina. (DAR Lineage Record No. 492391) This same record, however, contradicts itself and says James was bom on the Black River in New Hanover County, North Carolina. Bryant (sometimes spelled Bryan, Brian, or Briant) Lee was known to be in New Hanover County, Sorrih Carolina and to own land on the Black River as early as 1751.
