described her mother as having blue eyes, black wavy hair, 5' 4" tall, and approximately 155 pounds in her prime. From the photographs of Maggie, as a young girl, she appeared to be fairly attractive and of average weight. Myrtle also told us that her mother always claimed to be "Lutheran" but did not follow her religion. While the family was living in Bay St. Louis, Maggie sent her youngest daughter to St. Joseph's Catholic School (which is now closed), and after a while, Ruby became a Catholic. Ruby then proceeded to get her mother to convert to Catholicism. Eventually Maggie did become a Catholic, and she did follow this religion until her death. She was baptized a second time at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Bay St. Louis.
Margaret Louise “Maggie” Riehlmann married Jacob Heitzmann in McComb, MS, on Thursday, November 13, 1879 at 7:00 p.m. They were married by Ludwig P. Heintz, pastor of the German Protestant Church (Presbyterian) in McComb. Witnesses were: C. H. Laver, Peter Riehlmann, W. H. Jackson, and H. Brungert (spelling?). This marriage information was taken from the old Heitzmann Bible. Myrtle Morris also has an original wedding invitation of their wedding. Maggie lived with her parents until her marriage, and she moved about southern Mississippi with her husband after their marriage. II.	Johann “Peter” Riehlmann - according to Peter's son, Frank Alphonse Riehlmann, who was 80 years old at the time of the interview on April 7, 1973, at the "Golden Years Rest Home" in Harahan, LA, his father died at an early age in
1901	in New Orleans. He was supposed to be only 37 years old at the time of death. The 1880 census of Pike Co. shows Peter to be 16 years old or born in the year 1864. This census information confirms what we were told. Peter is buried in the Masonic Cemetery on City Park Ave. with a headstone and dates. Across the isle, are buried Peter's parents. The New Orleans birth records have “Johann Peter Riehlmann” born on December 5, 1863, and his obituary in several newspapers have his death as May 21, 1901. Peter met and apparently married his wife, Clara Lotz in Mississippi. We found Clara living with her parents, Valentine and Margaret Lotz in Summit, MS in the 1880 census. Clara was then 14 years old and born in MS, while her parents were born in Germany. There were nine children in Clara's family at the time. Peter is listed in the 1878 City Directory of New Orleans, LA as being a clerk working for his father. He moved to Mississippi with his parents, met and married his wife, and lived in Bogue Chitto, MS, until around 1893, for it was in this year that Peter Riehlmann re-appears in the New Orleans City Directory. A.	Catherine "Katie" Riehlmann - bom in 1885 according to one of Katie's daughters, Joan (Mrs. Frank T. High, 141 Ravan Ave., Harahan, LA). Joan said her mother died on August 26, 1960 in New Orleans. She said her mother married Eugene Helmstetter in New Orleans and had the following children: Margarete, Eugena (Mrs. Roy Harney, N.O.), Peter, Paul, Rita (Rita and Paul were twins), Jerome, Marian, Joan, Catherine, and Atwood.
