BWYC’s Marc Eagan topped an eleven boat field to win the GYA Flying Scot Individual Championship held at Gulfport Yacht Club last month. Marc and his crew, Chris Merrifield and brother Bubby Eagan completed the five-race series with a total of 161/* points on the low point scoring system, edging out SYC’s Larry Taggart with 17 points and Pensacola’s Chuck Barnes with 18 points. Using Bubby’s boat, Marc took first in all three races the first day, held in 10 to 15 knot winds. Light and fluky winds greeted the fleet the next day for the fourth and fifth races, and Marc finished ninth and fifth to take the tight series. Congratulations to skipper and crew on a fine series! We assume Chris learned a lot by being on the same boat with those two aces, and we also assume Marc and Bubby were in complete agreement on wind shifts, tactics, rules, etc., during the entire series! ! !
