No will of Bryant Lee has been discovered as of this date. (See page F-4, paragraph 1_) Mother Lee, David Lee was known to own land on the Black River even earlier than Bryant Lee. (Feb. 2, 1739) As to whether David was related to Bryant is not known. (See page F-l) New Hanover County, North Carolina James Lee 1757-1844 According to the evidence produced above, James Lee was the son of Bryant Lee. DAR Records for Marie Celeste Quinn (DAR Lineage No. 492 391) decendant of James Lee, contains Militia Pension Records that records James Lee as being 74 years of age in 1831. This would date his birth-date as being in 1757. This is the date I have used in this my book. DAR Records for Ida Walker Phillips, decendant of James Lee, places his birth date as being around 1760 and occuring in the Black River District. James Lee served in the Revolutionary War and in the Militia. There are a number of records showing he received various land grants for his service. H
