C. Rebecca Mary McArthur - bom 1816 in Hancock Co., MS. She married Judge Benjamin Sones, lived in Bay St. Louis, MS and had five children. D. James “Jim” McArthur, Jr. - bom 1827 in Hancock Co. Mary Ann McArthur - bom 1828 in Hancock Co. She married E.H. Frost and lived in Bay St. Louis, MS. No known children. II. Arthur Lott - bom c. 1780 in North Carolina as he is found in the 1850 Leake Co., r MS census. This son was not listed in our 1979 rendition of our “Solomon Lott Ancestors” because we did not have enough documentation of his connection. Thanks to Hilton and Gloria Lott of Niland, CA and their report “The Story of My Lotts” dated April 1988, we became aware of Arthur and his connection to our Solomon Lott. They presented us with enough information that we can now include him in this family. We will not go into every detail regarding Arthur, but will cover the most relevant information. The details are in our files should anyone need them or they can contact Mr. or Mrs. Hilton Lott. To simplify what we have on Arthur Lott, we will list relevant information in a time line format. 1) Arthur was in NC in 1780. 2) He apparently left NC around the time the rest of the family left and stopped in Hawkins Co., TN as evidenced by him paying “poll taxes” in 1811, which gave him the right to vote. 3) His first child, Solomon Joyner Lott, was bom in “TN” in 1812, as well as, his other two children bom in 1821 and 1824. 4) Arthur apparently moved to Hancock Co., MS where he paid property taxes in 1824 along with brothers Amos, Ezekiel, Jacob, and John Lott. Their father, Solomon, is not listed due to his death in 1822. It was after this, that he and several of old Solomon Lott's other children begin leaving Hancock Co. 5) He next shows up in the 1830 Copiah Co., MS census with what appears to be his wife and three children. 6) He is listed in the 1840 Copiah Co. census with what again appears to be a wife and three children. 7) Arthur Lott appears in 1850 living in Leake Co., MS with his daughter Pamelia “Amelia” Lott Morgan and family. This is the last record of him indicating he died there sometime after 1850. With this, we feel comfortable placing him as a son of our Solomon Lott. The following is what we have on his descendants based on oral tradition and documentation: A. Solomon Joyner Lott - bom 1812 in Tennessee according to the 1880 census of Scott Co., MS. He is listed with family, and he also states both of his parents 18
