CAPTAIN BLANCHARD, RIVERMAN, DEAD Veteran of Steamboating Passes On at Age of 68 Captain Olezlphore Blanchard, 68 years old, a veteran rlverman, died in Touro Infirmary Thursday evening. Since 18S7 he hna been close- ly connected with the *tenmboftt business on the Mississippi and his j father. Captain Max Blanchard, was1 a pilot on the Robert E. Lee during her historic race with the Natchez in 1870. Captain Blanchard had been ill several months. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4 o?clock at the Markey mortuary parlors. Interment will be in St. Louis cemetery No. 2.
