With the help of the sketch you sent me some time ago of ?Barbados Colonial - Before repairs,? Marco and I have reidentified the house as that of your family. Obviously, this is the way it looked before the 1915 hurricane, after which the upper floor was added. Charles agrees, and has pointed out that this picture came from an old postcard which named the house as Andrew Jackson,s; Charles, in error, thought it was Claiborne?s. Now we know that it was in fact Jackson?s, but remember, Jackson Jr.?s, not his adoptive father?s.
You also asked about the picture of the house wherein people can be seen. We have been unable to find the original, but believe the source was the Gulfside Methodist Assembly.
