I	A collection of verse focused primarily on the
shores and environs of the Mississippi Sound, the nature and people residing on its shores, reveals the sensitive, musical spirit of its 79-year-old composer, Elizabeth Hillery Sullivan.
Mrs. Sullivan, a New Orleans native, resident for the past 30 years of Bay St. Louis, "came over the lake" to spend summers on Biloxi?s shores from the time she was a small child.
According to her daughter, Mrs. Boyce Holleman of Gulfport, her mother ?fell in love with the water" early on and has been writing most of her life.
Opening the nearly 150 pages of verse is ?Return,? which voices her familiarity and feeling for the place:
?With eager heart I sought the sand Along Biloxi's shore.
Of all my girlhood
days the scene,
When I was only sweet sixteen.
As the reader proceeds through its pages, he may find in wordsong a spectrum of a rich life's experiences?"Angel Nurse? with the refrain ?Oh little white cap and gown? recording a bout with illness. .
Warm association with neighbors is depicted among many others in "Margaret? introduced in these lines: "She blesses the days with neighborly creed in gracious ways and thoughtful deed,? and concluding with "A heartwarming, homemade bowl of soup."
There is a nice bit of imagery in "The Flounderer?s Torch" and a clue to a bit of mysticism in the author?s makeup in ?Grains of Sand" and "Dreams." Suffice it to say that for everyone who has some special feeling for life on this Coast, there is a line or two of remembrance.
