Stanford Simpson of Poplarville, MS, and other relatives.
A.	Thomas Harrison Stanford - bora December 12, 1841, and died on October 2, 1844.
B.	James Douglas Stanford - born on August 25, 1844, and was killed in
the Civil War according to Mrs. Simpson. She has a copy of a letter he sent to his Grandmother. The letter was dated October 15, 1861, and was sent from Warrenton County, Virginia. The Bible is tom across his death date, but it looks like he died in June_____4 (probably 1864).
C.	Louisa Rebecca Stanford -bom May 5, 1848, and died February 22,
1923.	She never married and is buried in the Myrtle Grove cemetery about four miles from Baxterville, MS in what is today, Lamar, County, MS.
D.	Margaret Ann Stanford - born December 12, 1850, and died May
14,	1911. She never married and is also buried in the Myrtle Grove cemetery.
E.	David Dewitt Stanford - bom on November 25, 1852, and died on September 15, 1925, as taken from his headstone in Baxterville, MS. This is the father of Mrs. Simpson. She told us he married Margania Howard on December 21, 1892, and the record is in Pearl River County Court House. He lived in Lamar County about two miles west of Baxterville. They had: Olive Mae bom January 2, 1894, and Leland Douglas, bom March 12, 1895. Leland died in April 1953 and is buried in the Baxterville cemetery.
F.	Mary Jane Stanford - bom on June 9, 1855, and died on Oct. 12, 1924. She married John Robinson Rankin on September 30, 1875. Mary’s Bible record gives her middle name as “Jane,” her marriage is recorded as “Mary A.,” and her death is recorded as “Mary Angeline,” while some of her descendants remember her as Mary Jane, and this is what we will use. John and Mary J. Rankin made their home near the old Myrtle Grove cemetery and both are buried in that cemetery. They had five children:
1.	William Fleming Rankin-bom October 9, 1877. He married Emma R. Smith and they had: Clara, Lydia, Mary, Edward, and Michael. The family moved to Sanford, Florida, and he died after 1945.
2.	Ida Florence Rankin - bom May 7, 1879, and died on March 27,
1971. She married James Baxter, and they had Mary Lou Baxter, who married Beauford Smith and lived in Orange County,
