Demographics[edit]
As of the census131 of 2000, there were 2,040 people, 782 households, and 570 families residing in the CDP. The population density'was 153.1 people per square mile (59.1/km2). There were 987 housing units at an average density of 74.1/sq mi (28.6/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.98% White,
2.60% African American, 0.29% Native American, 0.29% Asian, 0.10% from other races, and 0.74% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.52% of the population.
There were 782 households out of which 34.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.6% were married couples living together, 11.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.0% were non-families. 20.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.61 and the average family size was 3.03.
