Oreck completes Regina purchase
LONG BEACH ? It?s official. David Oreck will reopen the Regina plant, which closed in December.
Oreck, who runs a New Orleans-based vacuum cleaner business, bought the plant Friday from Philips Electronics. Oreck said earlier in the week that he could begin hiring people as soon as today.
Oreck, president of Oreck Corp., sells vacuum cleaners and air and water purifiers throughout the nation. Revenues for his business have tripled over the last three years, from about $50 million in 1993 to more than $165 million in 1996.
