. PROPOSED 10-YEAR MAINTENANCE DREDGING PROGRAM, CONSTRUCTION OF BULKHEAD, PIERS AND BOAT RAMP, GULF OF MEXICO, HANCOCK COUNTY, BAY ST. LOUIS, MISSISSIPPI

This District has received an application for a Department of the Array permit pursuant to Section 10 of the River and Harbor Act of 1899 (33 USC 403),. --------- ----
as described below:
APPLICANT:	Mr.	Henry J. Prevou
American Legion #139 Post Office Box 68 Bay St. Louis, Mississippi 39520
WATERWAY:	Gulf	of	Mexico,	Hancock County, Bay St. Louis, Mississippi
WORK:	Proposed 10-year maintenance dredging program of access channels to
existing boat ramps and proposed boat dock. Excavate, by dragline, approximately 2,275 cubic yards of sand during the 10-year maintenance program as follows:	Area	A which includes the 20 ft by 170 ft area adjacent to the
docking pier will be dredged to -4 ft mean sea level. Approximately 300 cubic yards of material will be removed from this area every two years for a total of
1,500	cubic.yards of material being removed over the 10-year life of the permit. Area B which is an access channel approximately 20 ft by 140 ft will be dredged to -4 ft mean sea level. Approximately 155 cubic yards of material will be removed from this channel every two years for a total of 77 5 cubic yards of material being removed over the 10-year life of the permit. Dredged material will be placed in a diked, upland disposal area. Also, construct and maintain 40 linear ft of timber bulkhead with a 5 ft wide by 40 ft long timber pier and a
4	ft wide by 40 ft long timber pier as shown on drawings. Three 15 ft wide by 25 ft long with 2:1 slope precast boat ramp sections will be added to the existing ramp facility. Excavated material will be contained behind earthen dike, then spread after drying in area indicated on attached drawings.
This proposal relates to Department of the Army Permit Application MS82-00210-D-AF advertised by Public Notice dated 3 September 1982 describing similar work in the same location.
Permits from State agencies, including water quality certification, if applicable, will be required before final action is taken concerning a Department of the Army permit.
