Sustains Broken Collar Bone In Auto Wreck
Vincent Mannino of Gulfport is a patient in th.j Kings Daughters Hospital here suffering from a broken collar bono sustained when the car in which he was riding on the Poplar-ville-Kiln Highway blew out a tire and overturned. It was said that Mr. Mannino was taking two of his children and a neighbor’s child to New Orleans to enter school and an older son was driving when the accident happened. Mr. Mannino is not seriously hurt but is in the hospital because he cannot get to his home, Gulfshore Manor.
Historian With a Hammer
A recent New Orleans publication carried the story and picture of A. J. Thomas of thfs city at work in his own shop on the making of handicraft ornaments out of silver, copper, brass and aluminum, the designs of which are based on historic symbols. The story terms A. J. as a “Historian With a Hammer” and says that all of his work is historically correct.
^Though only 22 years of age he is classed as an authority on pre-his-toric relics and a leading amateur archaeologist.
Mr. Thomas is the son of Mrs. Catherine Thomas Wilson of this city who is quite an artist and musician herself.
