As we always like to stand corrected in regard to v:hat we copy as well as what we send forth ourselves, we willingly publish the following from a resident of Jackson, Mississippi’s far-famed capital:
MR. DELTA:-- The "Vicksburg Intelligencer" Neglected to report some of the remarks of "that feller Laboo" and Col. Mclnnis on the Chickasahay Ferry Bill. Mr. Labbo stated that Mclnnis1 refusal to cross people who had no money operated as a great grievance to a large number of the citizens in that section of country, many of whom were poor--very poor--extremely poor--poor as Job's turkey, which was known to be so poor it had to lean against a stump to gobble.
The Colonel, in reply to these remarks, said:— "He'd seed a heap of smart men in his time, but he never had seed one afore that could tell whether Job’s turkey was raly a Hen or a Gobbler!"

LEGISLATION — COL. MCINNIS1 FERRY BILL TIT FOR TAT
The "Delta" of yesterday (March 12? l8!i6) published an amusing account of the proceedings of Mr. Mclnnis of the Mississippi Legislature, a worthy man and a most excellent whig, who it seems took peculiar interest in securing bis own ferry privileges, and thought fit to make some rather facetious speeches, which made the readers of the "Delta" grin all day yesterday.
One word in defence of our friend Mac. He is not as big a fool as some might think. He ovns the whole town of Leaksville, court house and all. He keeps the only store, the only tavern and the only post office in the county.
He has contrived to extract from the poorest gopher range in all creation an estate of sue 30,, 000 without ever owing a ticct or fcori owj'w 3 ool! ar.
