Everyone’s Gift
Everyone has something of value to offer someone else.
It is not that most people have not mastered the art of giving,
but rather that most people have not mastered the art of receiving.
I have found it possible to add to my life and to learn in greater measure while: Waiting for the birth of a child, the sanctity of life;
Living with the very young, forgiveness;
Walking behind an aged person, patience;
Listening to an aphasic patient, determination;
Speaking to a person with hearing disability,
the value of communication; Describing something to a person with visual impairment, to see beyond the obvious; Hearing the talk of a recovered alcoholic, to live one day at a time; Working with those who are forever children, a deeper meaning of love; Ministering to the dying, faith;
Praying for those who have died, the happiness of memory.
