August 17, 1686 - Spanish invaded near Buford, South Carolina. Capt. Daniell gathered the assistance of northern Indians and participated in the defeat of the Spanish.

April 11, 1698 - Major Daniell was in London, appearing before the Council at Whitehall, to negotiate terms of the new Fundamental Constitution. During this time he also received permission from the Council to marry Martha Wainright.
August 12, 1698 -- appointed Landgrave and received 48,000 acres. He later received another 48,000 acres as a grant from Queen Anne.

May 12, 1699 - received Thomas Island, 180 acres in the Cooper River. He renamed it Daniell?s Island and it is part of the US Naval Base there now. His home was built here. These holdings were expanded to 700 acres by the time of Robert?s death.

August 10, 1702 ~ Colonel Daniell made report to the new assembly and assisted in presenting the new Constitution to the Carolina colonists.
September, 1702 -- Robert raised troops and Indians and was sent by land to participate in siege on Spanish fort at St. Augustine. His troops attacked and pillaged the town. The Spanish forces withdrew into Fort Castillo de San Marcos and it was necessary to lay seige to the fort. The balance of the colonial troops and Governor Moore arrived on ten ships. The colonists did not bring sufficient artillery for a siege and after a month, Colonei Daniell sailed for Jamacia to secure bombs and mortars. During his absence two Spanish frigates arrived. Governor Moore mistook them as men-of-war, abandoned his ships with their supplies and returned by land to Charleston. Upon Colonel Daniell?s return, the Spanish gave chase. He was able to escape and returned to Charleston. When the Assembly met in January of 1703, the courage and conduct of Colonel Daniell was highly praised.
